The updated forms for prolongation/interruption requests of doctoral studies, withdrawal from doctoral studies or transfer to another doctoral supervisor, together with the additional amendment for prolongation/interruption requests can be found here!The duration of doctoral studies is extended with the cummulated periods of interruption and/or prolongation. In general, the cummulated periods of interruption and/or prolongation cannot exceed 5 years.During the approved interruption period, the status of doctoral student is suspended, and the duration of the interruption cannot exceed 3 years The deadline for submission of requests for interruptions of doctoral studies is 14 September 2026 During the prolongation of doctoral students the status of doctoral student is maintained, and the duration of prolongation is limited to 2 years. The first 6 months of this period are fee-free (if the doctoral student has passed all his/her exams), the next 6 months require the payment of 50 % of the fee corresponding to the year of enrollment, while for the next 12 months of prolongation the doctoral student will pay the fee approved for the current academic year (2026/2027), year IV of doctoral studies The deadline for submission of requests for prolongations of doctoral studies is 29 September 2026 Models of contracts of doctoral university studiesAdditional amendments for requests of interruptions and/or prolongation, valid starting with 20.11.2025Additional amendment regarding the mandatory activities, which must be filled in by all doctoral students enrolled before 2025/2026, starting with the academic year 2021/2022 and the respective applicationThis additional amendment, valid starting with 20.11.2025, must be filled in before inserting these mandatory activities in the study contracts.The required number of activities is: - for doctoral students enrolled in the academic year 2021/2022 at least 2 activities; - for doctoral students enrolled in the academic year 2022/2023 at least 4 activities; - for doctoral students enrolled in the academic year 2023/2024 at least 6 activities; - for doctoral students enrolled in the academic year 2024/2025 at least 8 activities. If the mentioned activities were performed in the period 2021-2025, the respectiv application (referred to in the additional amendment) will include the description of the activities and the date at which they were carried out. Additional amendment for doctoral students enrolled in 2022 that require the extension of the doctoral studies at 4 years, and the application that must be filled in to this endThis additional amendment must be printed double-sided in two copies, filled in, signed by the doctoral student and his/her supervisor and submitted to the SecretariatModels of applications for requests of interruption and prolongation of sdoctoral studiesthat will be considered staring with 2 September 2025.The applications must be submitted to the secretariat not later than 15 September 2025. Please note that: - In the prolongation applications, for doctoral students enrolled starting with 2024 all 10 mandatory activities must be mentioned, while for those enrolled before 2024 only two activities carried out in each of the 3/4 years of doctoral studies are required. - Starting with 01.10.2025, the first 6 months of the first prolongation year can be undertaken without any fee. - Starting with the academic year 2025-2026, for the next 6 months of the first prolongation year the fee is 50% from the fee in the year of enrollment. - Starting with the academic year 2025-2026, for the second year of prolongation the fee is that of the fee at enrollment.
